Yes, this course takes about 3 hours. That is on purpose, and here is why.
Your team is probably already using AI at work, often on personal accounts and without clear rules. A policy that just says "be careful" leaves gaps, and every gap is a real risk: client records pasted into a personal chatbot, an AI tool that can send email nobody checks, a hiring decision nobody can explain, or a former employee whose AI connection still works. One missing piece can mean a data leak, a legal claim, or a lost client. So this course does not skim. It walks you through every part of a working AI policy, with practice at each step.
You leave with real work done, not just notes: a one-page AI policy skeleton for your own company, covering all 14 key sections and ready for a lawyer's review; named roles and backups; a short data-tier list that says where each kind of information may go; a simple approval process and the first rows of your approved-tools list; incident steps built on "stop, keep the record, don't delete, report promptly"; and a rollout plan for training, sign-off, and yearly review.
Paying a lawyer or consultant to build a first draft like this from a blank page can take hours of billable time, much of it spent learning how your business works. Here, you bring what you know about your business, and the course brings the structure. Your lawyer can then review a clear draft instead of starting from scratch.
How to take this course: it is built for five sittings of 30 to 45 minutes, one per module, so you can finish within a week. Sitting 1 (about 40 minutes): why you need a policy, who decides, and your core rules. Sitting 2 (about 45 minutes): data tiers, where data may go, and approving new tools. Sitting 3 (about 35 minutes): prohibited uses, decisions AI never makes alone, and what to do when something goes wrong. Sitting 4 (about 25 minutes): who owns AI-assisted work, offboarding, and protected rights. Sitting 5 (about 40 minutes): rollout, your full policy skeleton, and the final assessment. Each sitting ends with a short wrap-up where you draft that sitting's sections of your own policy, so nothing is left for "someday."
It is for owners and managers of small and mid-size businesses (about 5 to 500 people), and for the HR, operations, and IT leads who will write or own the policy. No legal or technical background is needed.
This is the manager-level companion to AI Privacy, Safety, and Responsible Use. That course teaches staff the everyday habits. This one teaches leaders to write the rules behind them. All examples use fictional companies.
Not legal advice. This course teaches what a workable AI policy usually covers and how to draft one. It does not give legal advice. Laws differ by state, country, and industry, and they are changing quickly. Every learner should have a qualified lawyer review their policy before adopting it.
